Browser notifications. If you allow notifications, your browser creates an anonymous subscription address and sends it to us. We store that address so we can deliver the stories you asked for. It does not contain your name, email address or phone number.
What we store with it. Country, browser language, browser user agent, and the page you subscribed from. We use this to send the right language and to stop sending to addresses that no longer work.
Advertising. Some links and images on this site are paid placements and are labelled as advertising. If you click one, the advertiser will see that the visit came from us.
Analytics. We count page views and how far down a page people read. We do not build advertising profiles about you on this site.
Turning it off. Use Manage notifications, or your browser settings: site settings → notifications → block. Once you unsubscribe we delete the subscription address.
Your rights. If you are in the EU or UK, you can ask us what we hold about a subscription and ask us to delete it. Unsubscribing does this automatically.
Contact. Reply to any notification or write to the address listed by the site operator.
